To start off, try Passeig Del Born. This lovely little avenue is filled with medieval charm, and the terraces of its many hip bars are always animated. One of the city’s most beloved nightlife hotspots, it has a high concentration of popular venues where Latin music mixes easily with pop. This small pedestrianised area leads on to numerous narrow streets where you can find hidden bars offering Pintxos and Basque tapas. Don’t forget to wash it all down with some delicious vermouth!

Lounge bars are more your thing, but you still like to keep it lively? Head to Barri Gòtic, the charming Gothic Quarter located in central Barcelona near La Rambla. Its old narrow streets are packed with cosy bars and delicious Catalan eateries. The closer you get to the beach, the more energetic it becomes!

If you’re an art fan and are looking to catch some cool exhibitions, El Raval is home to both the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art and the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona. The palm tree-lined Rambla del Raval is bordered by chill cafes, and the world-renowned Mercado de La Boqueria on La Rambla is a great place to stop for some wine and tapas. The neighboring streets are filled with bohemian bars, cool design boutiques, and some pretty awesome street art.

Next, head over to elegant Gràcia, famous for its beautiful 19th-century boulevards and striking art nouveau architectural landmarks by Antoni Gaudí. Trendy Catalan bistros and stylish cocktail and wine bars pepper the area around Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia, with art galleries, indie designer stores and arthouse movie theaters lining the neighborhood’s pedestrian lanes.

And of course, no trip to Barcelona would be complete without stopping by the beach. For some laid-back seaside fun, chiringuitos are typical beach bar kiosks that are buzzing with life all night during the summer.
