Bar Entrepreneur Awards 2020
World Best Bar
Jul 28, 2020
26 November 2020
Celebrate a bar owner’s journey and achievements by nominating them in the Bar Entrepreneur Awards, awards that recognise the risk-taking visionaries behind our favourite bars – the pioneers behind the scenes driven by passion and determination.
Remember a particularly memorable drink experience? Visited a brilliantly executed bar and enjoyed outstanding service? Perhaps a hidden gem of a bar, a popular destination, or the beating heart of a city? Contribute to celebrating and rewarding the hard-working individuals behind these places, without whom the world’s bar scene would not be as vibrant.
The Havana Club Bar Entrepreneur Awards return for a second year, at a time when the world faces huge challenges. Indeed, the hospitality industry is one of the most challenged sectors with many successful bar owners facing unforeseen hurdles to overcome. With reopened bars striving to deliver a “new normal”, it is certainly a time to celebrate their resilience.
Four prizes will be awarded to worthy bar owners. “The True Grit Award” celebrates an entrepreneur demonstrating true grit with a €10,000 prize. Recognising new talent and vision is the €10,000 “One to Watch Award”, and remembering success can’t be at the expense of the planet, an entrepreneur will be awarded a €10,000 “Ecopreneurship Award”.
The leading award is the €20,000 award to the “Bar Entrepreneur of the Year” that celebrates all-round talent in running bars that are exceptional places to visit.
Do you know or have you had the pleasure of meeting a talented bar owner? Are they an entrepreneur who delivers unforgettable experiences? Should they be named the Bar Entrepreneur of the Year? If so then you should nominate them before 31 July 2020.
Supported by Havana Club International, these Awards are dedicated to recognising and celebrating bar entrepreneurs around the world. Carina Soto Velasquez, the co-founder of Paris-based Quixotic Projects, was named Bar Entrepreneur of the Year 2019, having demonstrated success, resilience and determination. This year, judges will once again be seeking entrepreneurs who best demonstrate these characteristics, while having a clear and strong vision, experience of taking risks and challenging norms.
Who best to judge these bar entrepreneurs than a judging panel comprising Ara Carvallo, co-founder of Barra Mexico, Vijay Mudaliar co-owner of Native, Tess Posthumus co-owner of Flying Dutchmen Cocktails, Kelsey Ramage co-founder of Trash Tiki and Supernova Ballroom, Rasmus Lomborg, co-founder of Ruby, Rhys Oldfield, co-founder of Be At One and Juan Valls, co-founder of El Niño and Sinners Club, and supported by a professor of Entrepreneurship.
Visit the nomination page at https://www.bar-entrepreneur-awards.com and nominate a bar owner worthy of such an award before 31 July 2020.
