The Marylebone

It's not just the central location and convenient station that makes the bars in Marylebone ideal for nights out or weekend hangouts. It's a vibrant and eclectic spot that attracts everyone from weary office workers to up-and-coming young media types.

Marvellous bars in Marylebone

There’s the Artesian, the Langham Hotel’s bar, which is styled after the Victorian watering holes of yore. It’s an elegant spot for late-night cocktails. Whisky lovers should head over to Salt Whisky Bar & Dining Room, which offers an eye-popping collection of different whiskies (along with very good Indian food). The eponymous Marylebone dishes up creative cocktails in a traditional pub setting, while the ironically named Temperance is a straight-forward pub with an excellent selection of draught beers, bottled brews and fine wines.

Need a big space to bring the whole group? Bring the party over to Carbon, where you can sprawl out on sofas or prop up the long wooden bar for advanced-level cocktails in an industrial-inspired space. The jewel in Marylebone’s crown, however, is arguably Purl, a speakeasy-style cocktail den that’s become wildly popular. Booking ahead is a good idea. The bartenders really know their stuff, including everything from old-school classics to bespoke brews devised in-house.
