What a year it’s been. As 2020 comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on these past twelve months, draw new hope for the future, and most importantly, express our gratitude and appreciation to our community for sticking with us through it all.

Things got off to a good start for us here at World’s Best Bars as we began the year doing what we love most: trying out amazing bars in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo and sharing the experience with our readers.

Then, as the situation evolved and the world started hunkering down, we started thinking of ways to support our culture as best as we could while continuing to bring fun, entertainment and inspiration to our community of bar lovers.

We posted Roman Jehanno’s stunning bartender portrait series, giving the talented men and women behind our favorite bars a platform to share their stories and tips with the world.

We took the fun from the bar to our homes, with recipes and how-tos for all the budding mixologists eager to know more about the art of cocktail making.

We learned how to mix delicious drinks in our kitchens with no special bartending tools or skills, thanks to the always great Alex French Guy Cooking and Parisian cocktail badass Margot Lecarpentier.

We kept travelling the only way that we could, discovering amazing cities, venues and cocktails from behind our screens as we Sipped the World together on Instagram.

Through all this, we never lost that spark of hope, in no small part thanks to you guys. We love and appreciate you for staying with us, and hope we managed to bring you a bit of joy and distraction during this strange period. We promise to carry on doing what we do until we can come together again, sharing outstanding drinks, great laughs and meaningful conversations at our favorite venues around the world.

Here’s to making it through 2020, with all our best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2021.

Cheers!
